Ship Moves To Make Way For Hotel

Newcastle Herald

Saturday September 16, 2000

REPLICA paddle-steamer William the Fourth will leave Newcastle's Merewether St wharf for the last time in a while to-morrow.

The ship will move temporarily in front of the A shed before it goes to a new berth at Lee Wharf.

It will continue its popular public cruises from both locations.

The move is required to allow preparatory work for the proposed Honeysuckle hotel development at the Merewether St wharf.

Tomorrow will be the last day members of the public can take a 1-hour Newcastle Harbour cruise from the Merewether St wharf.

The cruises will be from 11am and 2pm.

Cruises cost $10 for adults, $5 for children or $20 for a family of four.

Bookings are recommended and can be made by calling 4926 1200.
