Here Come Dat Ol' Showboat

The Sydney Showboat, a replica of a Mississippi paddle steamer, arrived in Sydney yesterday as deck cargo on the heavy lift carrier MV Project Europa.
The replica came from Singapore where it was built for the Sydney-based company Blue Line Cruises.
Soon after dawn today cables will be attached to the Showboat for the delicate three-hour operation of lowering it onto the harbour.
Once named at Pyrmont, it will carry up to 450 passengers on cruises.
The $3 million Showboat has wrap-around verandas complete with lacework, mahogany panelling, brass fittings, and tall funnels for extra effect.
